ARTISANS OF THE FARM BOX FAMILY

CALMER SUTRA TEA

By Ramya Sundrapandi

CALMER SUTRA TEA
This lovely lady is Caitlin West, the artisan behind this month's feature pantry item from Calmer Sutra Tea. Caitlin founded Calmer Sutra Tea back in 2002 out of a personal desire to bring a quality 'real chai' to Melbourne's cafe scene and into our home kitchens.

A good chai, she believes must use fresh ginger - one of the key ingredients to getting that authentic fiery zing. By combining 8 spices, black tea leaves and local honey the Calmer team bring a well rounded chai to your cup.

Caitlin and her team are very passionate about ensuring all product which walks out the door is of the best quality and as fresh as possible. As soon as you grind or open up a whole spice it will begin to release its aroma and slowly over time lose its vitality and flavour. This is why at Calmer Sutra Tea they grind to order daily, to ensure the freshest product possible is reaching the customer.

Calmer Sutra Tea has over the years expanded beyond their signature chai, to a deluxe collection of hand crafted organic teas, tisanes, specialty brews and chai varieties, all of which we hope to introduce in the Bayside Farm Box.

Welcome to the Farm Box Family guys and thank you for warming our cockles with ur amazing chai. Now available in our online pantry.

JUSTINE TELFER & COOKING WITH ESSENTIAL OILS

Meet Justine Telfer from Seven Points Holistic Healing, the Reiki Master behind introducing the Farm Box family to cooking with essential oils. This month's free surprise pantry item was pure orange essential oil accompanied with a bliss ball recipe to kick start our journey of cooking with essential oils.

Justine has been using essential oils for about 5 years now. She opened her Reiki practice in early 2014 and just knew that essential oils were the perfect compliment to a Reiki treatment. Justine uses doTERRA oils because they are the purest of oils...i.e. there are no fillers or anything artificial added to the oils. Just the extraction of the plant. Oils heal on a physical and emotional level. They are Mother Natures finest gift! The Telfer family have replaced the bulk of their medicine cabinet - they use oils for headaches, tummy aches, bugs and general illness. They also use oil in their cooking and have replaced all of their dry herbs with oil.

Thank you Justine for your wonderful gift of wellness and here is an Doterra intro oil cooking kit to kick start your journey of cooking with essential oils!

RADIANT WELLNESS

By Ramya Sundrapandi

RADIANT WELLNESS

Meet Cathy Copomolla, the Melbourne artisan behind organic food brand Radiant Wellness. Our free pantry item for Organic Farm Box subscribers this month is Cathy's award winning 100% organic, hand-made Maple Vanilla Crunch Granola.

According to Cathy, Radiant Wellness started as a bit of an accident. Cathy, could never find a healthy cereal she loved which wasn't full of sugar and contained no nasties, so she started making her own granola. She would share her granola creations with her family and also with clients (she is a certified Health Coach), who would in turn share it with their friends and before long, everyone wanted to buy her hand-made granolas from her. And thus, like most entrepreneurial stories, Cathy’s accidental venture into making health food started in order to satisfy a need in the market.

Welcome to the Farm Box Family Cathy! We look forward to tasting more of your creations.

Add Cathy's super scrumptious Maple Vanilla Crunch Granola to your Farm Box now!

THE WIMMERA GRAIN STORE

By Ramya Sundrapandi

THE WIMMERA GRAIN STORE

This is Jenny Moore ( née Matthews) from The Wimmera Grain Store. Her family have been growing pulses in a town called Rupanyup, 3.5hrs from Melbourne in the Wimmera/Mallee region for three generations.

It is a well known fact that there has been a decline in regional population and that our farmers are experiencing a drought. In these conditions, it is imperative that small agricultural towns like Rupanyup be brought to light and supported.

The United Nations have named 2016 as the International Year of Pulses and Jenny's hometown of Rupanyup with a population of only 344 people is determined to put itself on the international map as "A Town With Pulse!".

So this International Year of Pulses, Wimmera Grain Store have joined the Bayside Farm Box Family to introduce Bayside Melbourne to the amazing range of pulses grown in our own backyard, that is the Wimmera/Mallee region. We are so very proud to present Rupanyup grown chickpeas as theis months Farm Box free pantry.

Support Rupanyup and get a packet of Jenny's chickpeas with your next Farm Box!

We were thrilled when Red Rock Olives decided to join the Bayside Farm Box family as this Victorian Olive Grove is the hotbed of a small but growing suite of artisan products which Australia needs to know about.

Situated near the magical Grampians National Park in Western Australia, the Red Rock Olive Grove is a18-hectare olive grove hosts more than 5,000 multi award winning trees. The grove has various types of olives including Manzanillo, Frantoio, Kalamata and Liguaria.

Next week, Bayside farm Box customers will get a taste of their beautiful Kalamata olives, described as a black Greek style olive with firm flesh and rich, fruity wine flavours.

Rita Bilkins and David Margetson are the humans behind the Red Rock Olive brand. Rita is a city girl who worked in PR and David is a sheep farmer. Together they have a vision to educate Australians about the delights of 'real' olive oil and the importance of consuming good quality olive oil. They are well on their way to achieving this vision with their extra virgin olive oil winning awards in 2014 and 2015. More info can be found at www.redrockolives.com.au

We are honoured and excited that these guys have joined the Bayside farm Box family and cannot wait to introduce the fruits of the loving labour of Rita, David and the Red Rock Olives team to the Melbourne Bayside Community!
