This is Jenny Moore ( née Matthews) from The Wimmera Grain Store. Her family have been growing pulses in a town called Rupanyup, 3.5hrs from Melbourne in the Wimmera/Mallee region for three generations.

It is a well known fact that there has been a decline in regional population and that our farmers are experiencing a drought. In these conditions, it is imperative that small agricultural towns like Rupanyup be brought to light and supported.

The United Nations have named 2016 as the International Year of Pulses and Jenny's hometown of Rupanyup with a population of only 344 people is determined to put itself on the international map as "A Town With Pulse!".

So this International Year of Pulses, Wimmera Grain Store have joined the Bayside Farm Box Family to introduce Bayside Melbourne to the amazing range of pulses grown in our own backyard, that is the Wimmera/Mallee region. We are so very proud to present Rupanyup grown chickpeas as theis months Farm Box free pantry.

Support Rupanyup and get a packet of Jenny's chickpeas with your next Farm Box!
