SUPER EASY CABBAGE AND LEEK SIDE DISH

Enjoy this super easy side dish, which goes great with sausages or any roast meat.

  • 1 leek thinly sliced. Note: Dirt tends to get in between the layers, so make sure you give your leeks a good rinse before using.
  • ½ cabbage, shredded, core discarded
  • Knob of butter
  • Two garlic cloves, finely chopped

 

Blanch the leek and cabbage in a pan of boiled salted water for 2-3 minutes. Drain, refresh under cold running water and drain again.

Melt the butter in a pan, add the garlic and fry over a gentle heat for 1 minute.

Add the leek and cabbage and sauté over a medium heat for 2-3 minutes, tossing the pan occasionally.

 Season well (like really well…taste, taste, taste!) and serve as a side dish.
